Welcoming the Autumn Equinox

There is a moment in the wheel of the year when the earth stands still—when the light and dark exist in perfect balance before tipping toward the deep quiet of winter. This is the Autumn Equinox, a time of transition, of reckoning, of standing at the threshold between what has been and what is yet to come.

This season is one of harvest and reflection. It is a time to gather the fruits of our labor—both seen and unseen—and to ask ourselves:

  • What has grown? What have I nurtured this year that is now ready to be celebrated?

  • What is withering? What no longer nourishes me, yet I continue to hold on to?

  • What lessons have emerged? What cycles am I repeating, and what wisdom is asking to be integrated?

  • What am I ready to lay to rest? What is weighing me down, keeping me bound to patterns that are not mine to carry?

This is not only about the physical harvest—the projects, relationships, and creations that have taken shape in the world. It is about the ancestral harvest. The stories we have inherited, the karmic debts we are unwinding, the energy that moves through us like an ancient current.

The Autumn Equinox is a sacred invitation to pause and acknowledge the unseen forces that shape our lives. To recognize where we are still entangled in the past—where the echoes of our lineage speak through our fears, our struggles, our resistance to change.

What if this season is an opportunity to lay those burdens down?

Harvesting the Past: Healing Through the Generations

There is wisdom in the earth’s cycles. Nature does not resist change—it moves with it, surrenders to it, trusts in the rhythm of release.

Yet, as humans, we often struggle to let go. We grip tightly to our stories, to our wounds, to the identities shaped by ancestral and karmic imprints. But here, in the space between summer’s bloom and winter’s stillness, we are given a choice:

Do we carry forward what was never ours to hold? Or do we honor our ancestors by choosing differently?

Autumn is a season of ancestral reckoning—a time when the veil thins, and the whispers of those who came before us rise to the surface.

If we listen, we may hear the call to:

  • Release the generational wounds that have shaped our fears and limitations

  • Reclaim the wisdom of our lineage—the strength, resilience, and sacred knowledge carried in our blood

  • Unravel karmic contracts that have kept us tethered to old cycles of pain

  • Offer gratitude for the lessons, while releasing the burdens that are no longer ours to bear

This is the work of ancestral and karmic healing—to look back with reverence, but not with chains. To understand that we are the continuation of a story, but we are also its transformation.

How the Equinox Supports Energetic & Karmic Clearing

Each of the four planetary markers of the year—Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, and Autumn Equinox—serves as a portal, a time when the veil between worlds is thin and energy moves more fluidly between dimensions.

The Autumn Equinox in particular is a gateway for:

  • Energetic purification—clearing the density accumulated from the past season, both physically and spiritually

  • Healing ancestral trauma—releasing inherited pain that has been passed through generations

  • Karmic release & realignment—letting go of old patterns, contracts, and debts that no longer serve our path

  • Integration of shadow & light—embracing both the seen and unseen aspects of ourselves with love

  • Deep soul retrieval—calling back fragmented parts of the self that have been lost through time, trauma, or past life experiences

As Mercury Retrograde also begins during this season, we are urged to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. Old wounds may resurface, not to punish us, but to be witnessed, acknowledged, and finally set free.

What if this discomfort is not a setback, but an initiation?

What if the emotions rising within you are not yours alone, but the unspoken grief of your lineage, asking to be seen?

What if this season is calling you to honor the past while stepping fully into your power?

The Sacred Art of Letting Go

I know this work is not easy. Releasing is not always a gentle act.

Sometimes it is grief-laden, tangled with memories we do not want to revisit. Sometimes it is slow and resistant, like prying roots from the earth. But letting go is not forgetting. It is making peace with what has been so that you can create space for what is meant to come next.

Nature shows us the way.

The trees do not mourn their falling leaves. They do not grasp at what must go. They surrender, trusting that in time, new growth will come.

Let this season teach you the same.

Let yourself release with reverence. Let yourself grieve what must be grieved, but not be bound by it.

Let yourself stand in the threshold of what was and choose to walk forward differently.

You are not meant to carry the burdens of the past.
You are meant to transmute them, integrate them, and walk forward in your own power.

Stay grounded, soul family. Reflect, recenter, and trust in the rhythm of release.

With love, Emily Rose
