How Energy Healing Positively Impacts Your Immune System
Our immune systems fight disease-causing germs and work to remove them from the body. It does this through the hairs on our skin that act as protective barriers, eyelashes that keep germs out of our eyes, sweat so that we can release toxins, and tears; yes, even watery eyes are a sign of the body releasing toxins. Everybody knows that the best way to support our immune system is to stay healthy. We do this by eating healthy, getting exercise, taking care of our mental health, getting adequate sleep, and enjoying life, yep, enjoying life keeps you happy, which means you're less stressed and your body isn't fighting with itself to stay well. Now I'm not saying everyone does all these things. We should, but most of us do what we can to put our well-being first. However, even when we are trying out darndest, we fall short. Between the stress of the pandemic and toxic capitalism that keeps us hustling non-stop and consuming regularly, you may be finding yourself in a place of discomfort, low energy, or high stress. This is where the practice of energy healing can help you out immensely. We know that everything is made up of energy in our universe, so why don't more people seek energy healing? Unfortunately, it has gotten a bad reputation for being woo-woo (by which I reclaim this word as a positive, but in this case, we are speaking to it from the perspective of those who think all things woo-woo are crazy) and pseudoscience. However, let me drop some truth on you.
Science has proven that by going to an energetic practitioner, people see a decrease in pain and anxiety while increasing restful sleep and a calming mindset. This practice builds resiliency in the body and works to bring you into homeostasis, where you can naturally heal and fight diseases caused by emotional stress, physical tension, and environmental harm. The results have been astounding whether you practice energy healing on yourself or see a practitioner. People with headaches they haven't been able to get rid of for years go to a reiki practitioner, and after ongoing sessions, they seemingly become healed of their ailment. Some subscribe to the body code in which they heal from thrush, shoulder pain, and insomnia. Others go to acupuncture (yes, classic Chinese medicine is energy work) for stress and anxiety. These are just a few modalities that come to mind as I write this, but many more are out there.
How To Know Your Immune System Is Working
If you are inflamed and swollen, feel the heat coming off of your body like you are a generator, find yourself in high levels of stress, always seem to get a cold or sinus infections, you struggle with digestive issues, or you feel fatigued all the time, I'm sorry to say, you may want to connect with your local naturopath and find out what's causing the discomfort. These are all signs that your immune system is not working at its peak performance. I encourage you to listen to your body. Is it asking for more sleep? Is it longing to be touched? Is it not happy with the food you are consuming? Notice if you need to go to bed early, get a massage, or change your diet. Your body is always speaking to you, don't ignore it because we live in toxic capitalism that pushes us to grin and bear it. This is the time to take a step back and look into ways that you can care for yourself.
I have been dabbling in the holistic world since my early 20s. Still, after going to a naturopath and finding out what was wrong with my digestion, it was then that I went back to old faithful and dove into my unconventional ways of healing. There were no problems; they couldn't find an answer to what was causing my discomfort. From that moment, I knew it was stress, my need to hold on to things for control and safety, thus, holding onto bowel movements. Through hypnosis, energy healing, and pelvic floor therapy, I was able to heal my digestive issues holistically. When I started listening to my body and intuition, I found all my answers. Being an energy healer myself, I practiced Reiki and shamanic healing regularly at home to ease my symptoms and release the pain. Not only that, my days were calm, the stress was nonexistent, and I could feel my body returning to its natural state in which it could heal itself. By shifting and moving blocks, I cultivated a foundation on which everything else would serve.
I've seen people who were told it would take them 6+ weeks to heal after surgery, but they recovered in less than four weeks' time with weekly energy healing sessions. When you support your immune system, it's possible you can avoid getting sick or at least have a milder illness.
What affects your immunity?
There's a lot to consider about everything that affects your immunity, from your environment to your emotional well-being. And when your body is not at its best, energy healing supports your immune system by moving blocked energy and activating the parasympathetic nerve, which allows you to feel calm and at peace. If your parasympathetic nerve is activated every day, you get sick is much lower. Your ability to regulate stressful situations is imperative to your overall well-being. This is why perspective and mindset play a significant role in healthy people. Their ability to stay grounded and listen to their body, allowing the little things to fall by the wayside, directly impact their immune system, allowing them to fight pathogens effortlessly.
How you Live Your Life Affects Your Immunity
Whether you're getting the rest you need, moving your body through stretching, dancing, walking, or bike riding; taking care of your mental health through talk therapy, hypnosis, mediation, or breathwork all effects how you process stress, take care of your mental and spiritual health, they all play a part. If you feel pain and it's causing you to shy away from some of these practices, guess what? Energy healing helps with that, too! Don't allow certain circumstances to hold you down because circumstances can always change; you may just need to find the solution that speaks to you.
